Languages Canada announces guard.me International Insurance as Diamond Sponsor for 2015-2016

OTTAWA, ON – May 26, 2015 – Languages Canada is pleased to announce the second annual World Student Day to take place on June 12, 2015 in cities across the country. Celebrations will take place in: Halifax, NS; Glace Bay, NS; Charlottetown, PEI; Montreal, QC; Toronto, ON; Niagara, ON; Winnipeg, MB; Calgary and Edmonton, AB; Vancouver, BC; and Victoria, BC.

OTTAWA, ON – May 21, 2015 – Languages Canada and the Ministry of Education of Brazil are pleased to announce Acadia University (Nova Scotia), Apex Language and Career Center (Halifax) and the International Education Centre and Language Institute at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology (Ottawa) as the host institutions for Brazilian scholarship students Olivia Maria Santos de Lima and Miller Eliézer Cunha.

VANCOUVER, BC – March 31, 2015 - On March 27, 2015, BEC Rocky Mountains and BEC Montreal closed their doors due to insolvency affecting approximately 57 current and future students between their Canmore, Alberta and Montreal, Quebec locations. The majority of the students had registered for the Canmore location.

Languages Canada, CAPS-I and the State of Par​​á​, Brazil, sign notable MOU OTTAWA, ON – March 13, 2015 – The State of Par​​á​, Brazil, the Canadian Association of Public Schools (CAPS-I) and Languages Canada signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last week to support closer working relations between the three parties.

Languages Canada is pleased to announce Dr. Denise Abreu e Lima as the keynote speaker for the upcoming Bridges to the Future annual conference to be held in Ottawa-Gatineau, March 1 to 4, 2015. By using language as one of the foundations for Brazil’s internationalization efforts, Languages Without Borders is changing the way the world understands language education. As the keynote presenter, Dr. Abreu e Lima will share her vision of language education, the strategic objectives of Languages Without Borders, and its implementation process.

Languages Canada, the association representing Canada’s 227 English and French accredited language education programs, awarded two English Without Borders scholarships last Thursday, Dec. 11, to Olivia Maria Santos de Lima and Miller Eliézer Cunha e Silva from the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. The awards were presented by Gonzalo Peralta, Executive Director of Languages Canada, Denise Abreu e Lima, President of Languages Without Borders at the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Anna-Karine Asselin, Minister-Counsellor and Head of the Political Section at the Embassy of Canada, during the inaugural Languages Without Borders Congress in Brasilia, Brazil.

Languages Canada supports the Right Honorable Michaëlle Jean’s candidacy for Secretary General of La Francophonie Languages Canada, the association representing Canada’s 227 accredited French and English language education programs, congratulates the Rt. Hon. Michaëlle Jean for her appointment as the Secretary General of l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie.
