OTTAWA, October 8, 2015 – Languages Canada, the association representing Canada’s 225 accredited language education programs, is proud to announce that it will soon lead a delegation of member programs to take part in a trade mission to Turkey and the Middle East.

From November 9 to 13, 2015, representatives of Languages Canada and its member programs will be present in Istanbul, Turkey, to meet with key educational agencies, top local schools and government representatives.

“Turkey is an exciting emerging market for Canadian language programs. With a history and culture of embracing English and French, Canada’s official languages, Turkey offers much in the way of collaborating in education,” explains Gonzalo Peralta, Executive Director of Languages Canada. “We hope to enhance student mobility by increasing the number of agents that focus on Canada, and by increasing awareness about the Canadian education system and how to navigate it.”

Languages Canada trade missions offer members the opportunity to meet top agents in some of the highest performing markets in language education. Fourteen Languages Canada member programs will take part in this mission, made possible thanks to the support of the Government of Canada’s Global Opportunities for Associations program.

“As a sector representative, Languages Canada is interested in helping our members connect with the best agencies throughout the world through trade missions and other marketing initiatives. We hope to be able to work with partners in Turkey to make Canada a top study destination for their students,” says Charbel Moreno, Manager of International Affairs and Marketing for Languages Canada.

As part of an ambitious international marketing strategy, Languages Canada ensures Canada is engaged in partnerships with institutions and governments around the world to deliver on their promise of internationally recognized language education.

Last year, Languages Canada led several collaborative trade missions to Russia, Spain, Kazakhstan, China and Vietnam, and now this year to Turkey China and Vietnam and Mexico in 2016.
