English for Health Care Professionals

Program Description:
The program will allow Healthcare professionals (Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, dentists, lab technicians), to gain the theoretical knowledge and practice language skills linked to reading, writing, speaking, and listening within the working context of the healthcare / medical fields.   

 The English for Health Care Professionals program includes 120 hours of in-class education (theory and practice)  6-8 weeks

The program contains two courses.

Learning Objectives:

General Objective: Competency in both practical language use and the theory necessary to understand the terminology and its context of use in health care practice. The program is focused on practical applications for new vocabulary and language as well as practical skills related to medical communication


Hospitality Operation Certificate

DEA Canadian College’s Hospitality Operation Certificate provides the training you need to enter this fast-paced industry. This program is offered in collaboration with the ‘American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute”. Widely recognized as the preeminent leader in hospitality certification, the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) certifies hospitality professionals in all facets of the hospitality, hotel and tourism industry.

The program covers The Lodging and Food Service Industry, Supervision in the Hospitality Industry, Managing Front Office Operations, Managing Housekeeping Operations, Managing Technology in the hospitality industry, Hospitality sales and marketing, Managing Service in Food and Beverage Operations, Hotel and Restaurant Accounting.

In addition to their Hospitality Operation Certificate, graduates of this program will be also certified in an American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) Certificate.

Admission Requirements

At least 18 years of age.  

Evidence of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent; [evidence can include an IELTS evaluation, or similar testing assessment to the level which can be closely deemed as equivalence (ie TOEFL IBT)] or the student can take the College’s language proficiency exam. 

This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training.
