From September 28 to October 2, 2026, Languages Canada led a trade mission to South Korea to strengthen commercial ties between Canadian language education providers and Korean institutions seeking expertise in English and French language education, bilingualism and international education.

The 2025 Annual Survey Report, prepared for Languages Canada by BONARD, shows a sector that faced an exceptionally difficult period—but also one with significant strengths on which to rebuild.

The Languages Canada public affairs team was on Parliament Hill in Ottawa May 25-27 and Toronto on May 28, meeting with parliamentarians, political staffers, and senior public servants to advocate for favourable policy changes for Canada’s Official Languages education sector.

From February 22 to 28, 2026, Languages Canada led a major outbound trade mission that brought together Canadian institutions from across the country with leading education agencies from mainland China and Taiwan. The mission was strategically timed to coincide with the 2026 APAIE Conference, which welcomed over 3,000 delegates from around the world.

A highly successful trade mission took place, March 15-21, 2026, as part of Languages Canada’s ongoing efforts to promote its members to Mexican partners and strengthen existing agreements. The initiative brought renewed momentum to Canada–Mexico collaboration in language education and reinforced the country’s position as a top destination for Mexican students.
