The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) was established in 1907 and is a member of the U15 group of top Canadian research universities. The U of S is located in the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan which resides on the Treaty 6 land of the First Nations and the homeland of the Métis people.

The U of S has over 25,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Our university is composed of 17 colleges and schools, as well as a number of federated and affiliated colleges. The U of S offers over 80 distinct programs in more than 130 fields of study in areas such as business, agriculture, environmental science and engineering.

The U of S campus also houses the VIDO Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization and the Canadian Light Source Synchrotron (the only synchrotron on a university campus), the Global Institute for Food Security, the Global Institute for Water Security and the Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation.

The University of Saskatchewan Language Centre (USLC) is part of the University of Saskatchewan’s Teaching, Learning and Student Experience division. The USLC has provided instruction in English and other languages since 1980, specializing in Academic English and English for Specific Purposes. It prepares international students to meet the English proficiency requirements at the University of Saskatchewan. Its major focus is to prepare international students to succeed linguistically, academically and culturally in their university studies. The USLC also offers a range of part-time English as a Second Language classes and special custom-made short-term programs.
